Hi Kristin, The 11′ all-round would be your better option there. It’ll do great in a variety of environments and works well as a solo board, but it will have enough volume to comfortably support you and your boys on the occasions that you do take them out.

I am 5’7” 138lbs and am pretty confident in terms of stability because I swim long distance, bmx/skateboard, and as I said previously do quite a bit of kayaking.
I think I’ve decided on the irocker all around, but I can’t decide between the 10’ and the 11’.
I live in Florida and will be using the board in the ocean, on rivers, and lakes. I will also probably take it with me to Maine and out west too.
My difficulty in choosing between the boards is because I will sometimes be soloing, but I will also be taking my 4 and 8 year old boys with me too occasionally.
Which board would you suggest between the 11 and the 10? Is there a better choice out there for me?

If you are wanting maneuverability, then at your height and weight I’d go with the 10′ board. It’s not as fast as the 11′, but does have a more sporty feel to it – especially for smaller paddlers like yourself.

Hello

I’m trying to decide between the all around 10’ or 11’ board. Mainly using on calm waters for sup, maybe in the ocean if it’s calm. Not sure if I would do any snorkeling. I am 5’2” and 125 lbs. which do you recommend?
I’ve paddled a few times and would appreciate maneuverability. My stability isn’t bad. I’ve done yoga on the cruiser, but don’t think it’s something I would do too often.

Peggy,

I would buy the 2020 version if the upgraded backpack (added wheels) isn’t a big deal for you. That’s probably the most important upgrade. The paddle was upgraded as well, but to save the $91 I do think the 2020 version is a great steal right now while they last.

I have been on paddleboards for the past five years or so; but am taking the plunge this year. I will be purchasing the iRocker 10′, because even though I may take my pup (~50 lbs.), I am 5’3″ and 130 lbs. My question is:
Do I save $91.00 and buy the 2020 model, or
Are the upgraded features on the 2021 model worth it?
The only thing I really want to know is if the river fins will be available on both the 2020 and the 2021 SUPs, because it seemed like that was one of the difference between the two years.
Thanks for advising!

Gina,

I would recommend going with the 11′, and seeing if they have a 2020 model still available. There are some differences, but a lot of the changes are cosmetic and the core of the board didn’t change (which we think is a good thing as we loved the 2020 iRockers). I do think you’ll appreciate the extra space and slight improvement in speed for those longer voyages.

Hope that helps!

I’m 5’5” and 155lb and considering the All Around 10 or 11. I’m not concerned about balance would be using it mostly in the ocean, bays, a few lakes. I don’t plan to go camping but would like to do some nice long day trips which would require some cargo. I don’t have pets or small children so it would primarily be me on the board.

I’m slightly leaning towards the 11 for more a cargo space but the 10 seems to be slightly more maneuverable.

Also, there is a nice sale on the 2020 All Around 10s, which would let me get a 10 + electric pump for less than either of the 2021 All Around 10 or 11s.

Would you recommend the 10 or 11? And are there significant enough differences between the 2020 and 2021 models to justify spending the extra few hundred dollars?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Justin. Thanks for the info.

I ended up purchasing the iRocker. The price and the free electric pump deal were too good to pass up. The backpack also swayed me a bit, the iRocker one looks more comfortable and I like the addition of the waist strap for longer walks.

I took it out for a paddle on the weekend and had a great time!

Cheers,
Michael
